Maasin Pride IV, the non-title fight involving Prince Albert Pagara, the Pride of Maasin City and Tawanrung Eausampan of Thailand, will be moved earlier to November 15, 2012. The fight will be an attraction for the coming birthday of Governor Damian Mercado who will be running as Congressman of the Lone District of Southern Leyte in place of his brother Roger Mercado who will run as Governor.

The original schedule was November 16, but two main reasons caused the early staging of the card. First, there was a request from the Diocese of Maasin to use the venue for the diocesan-wide Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) gathering. Second was the non-title fight between WBO world lightflyweight champion Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes and Danai Meendaeng of Thailand in Dumaguete City on Novermber 17 which ALA Gym patron Antonio L. Aldeguer would like to attend after Maasin Pride IV.

Jason Pagara will also grace the occasion and he will receive a Special Award from the city government of Maasin for winning the WBO international light-welterweight title against Mexican Rosbel Montoya and successfully defending it against Miguel Antoine of Barbados. Thousands of Maasin folks especially those coming from their home in Barangay Lib-og led by their uncle Barangay Captain Walter Sepe will troop to the City Gym. General admission is free as the Governor, the Congressman and the Mayor?s gift to the city?s boxing fans.

Pagara?s mother Sabrina Gerogalem Pagara now lives in Lib-og together with his father Reynaldo Pagara, who is now employed at the Maasin City Hall as trainer for amateur boxers. It serves as the incentive of the city government to the Pagara family.

It will mark the first time in the history of Maasin City sports that a boxing match will feature a foreign fighter. Eausampan is unbeaten in five pro fights with 2 KO wins. All of these bouts were held in home country Thailand. Pagara is also undefeated in 13 fights with 9 KO wins.

Eausampan has fought and defeated all Thai opponents namely Kong Sithsamart, Den Sithsaithong, Chartphichit Sor Rathidec, Khaosainoi Or Nanthasrino, and Tepparith Sor Thanmajak. Pagara has fought two foreign opponents and won against Tanzanian Shabani Madilu (UD 9 Rds.) and Phupha Por Nobnom of Thailand (TKO Rd. 2).

Prince Albert has fought a total of 51 rounds in 13 fights with a 69.23% KO rate. He is now ranked No. 33 in the whole world and No. 5 in the Philippines in the bantamweight division by Boxrec.com. He is rated No. 10 superflyweight contender by the Orient Pacific Boxing Federation and ranked number two Philippine contender by the Games and Amusements Board in the superflyweight division.

The supporting bouts include crowd favorite Jojo ?Flash? Entor of Negros Occidental who will face Gilbert Graciano of General Santos City. Another foreign boxer Takaoki Noma of Osaka, Japan will climb the ring against Jamjam Ungon of Bantayan, Cebu. Bryan Lobitania of Tagbilaran City will clash with Dingdong Quinones of General Santos City.
