MANILA (PNA) - The historic fourth chapter of the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez rivalry will officially be sealed Monday (Tuesday in Manila) when the protagonists start a three-city international media tour, beginning in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.

Pacquiao, the Filipino ring hero, and Marquez, the Mexican legend, will face each other ?mano-a-mano? in this quadrilogy on December 8 at the MGM Grand in the ?sin city? of Las Vegas to decide, once and for all, who between them is the better boxer in the 147-pound division.

Pacquiao and Marquez, who won a total 12 division world championships between them, with the Filipino the only man to own eight belts in the history of boxing, will be seeing eye-to-eye for the first time since they met the last time November of last year, with the former salvaging a majority division triumph.

Top Rank big boss Bob Arum will formally announce the staging of the fight that was held in abeyance for months due to the indecisiveness of Pacquiao as to his choice whom he will face next following his questionable loss to undefeated American Timothy Bradley, who, thus, dethroned him as the World Boxing Organization welterweight kingpin.

With the two boxers in Monday?s West Cost side of the presscon at the Crystal Ballroom on Sunset Boulevard are their respective trainers ? Freddie Roach for Pacquiao and Ignacio ?Nacho? Beristain for Marquez. ? as well as Top Rank?s Todd duBoef and Fernando Beltran, the Mexican?s promoter.

New York will be the venue of the second stage of the hype to promote the bout with the Edison Ballroom on West 47th Street in the ?City that Never Sleeps? serving as the last stop of the tour in the U.S. shore on Sept. 19, Wednesday (Thursday in Manila)

This is because the concluding leg of the media tour is set Friday (Saturday in Manila), Oct. 21, in Mexico City. Details of the Mexico stage will be announced later, according to advisory sent jointly by Top Rank and MGM?s Magna Media to the media outfits .
Pacquiao, traditionally, has a big following in Mexico that equals if not surpasses that of Marquez. In the presser of the last chapter of their trilogy, followers of the Filipino in Mexico even outnumbered those of the Mexican.
Like in the previous Pacquiao-Marquez showdowns, the Mexico stop of the media tour is open to the public.

The 33-year-old Pacqiuao, who arrived in Los Angeles last Friday with wife Jinkee, was to meet with Arum any day before Monday?s opening leg of the press tour and was supposed to have finalized the fight deal by signing the dotted on the contract.

In all of acts of the Pacquiao-Marquez trilogy, the Mexican, popularly known also as ?Dinamita? proved to be the Pacman?s kryptonite despite losing twice and drawing once. Marquez had, time and again, showed his counter-punching prowess is the answer to Pacman?s speed and power.

None of the duo?s previous encounters were decisive with Marquez showing like a vintage wine, sweeter and smoother, as time goes by as he remains always a threat to Pacquiao?s seemingly dwindling knockout ability. A factor that obviously led to this quiadrilogy.

In their first fight on May 8, 2004, Pacquiao sent Marquez flat on the canvass three times in the first round only to settle for a draw after 12 rounds on judges? scorecards of 115-110 for Pacquiao, 115-110 for Marquez and 113-113. Marquez retained his featherweight tiara.

Four years later on on March 15, 2008, Pacquiao, again, knocked Marquez down in the third round, but the Mexican landed the most number of punches in all of 12 rounds only to see himself at the losing end via a split decision at Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel in Las Vegas. Pacquiao took Marquez?s World Boxing Council and the Ring Magazine?s super-featherweight plum. The scores were 115-112 and 114-113 for Pacquiao and 115-112 for Marquez.

On November 12 last year at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Pacquiao went home triumphantly via a majority decision convincing the two judges? via 115-113 and 116-112 verdicts with the third seeing the fight 114-114 to keep his 147-pound crown. He connected the most number of blows 176-113 and was also ahead in power punches, 117-100.
And like in the previous meetings, Marquez went all over proclaiming to all and sundry that he was ?robbed? of victory.
