Cebu-based Rev 'Gentle Giant' Santillan will get another chance to regain his title when he challenges reigning Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) welter king Taisei Marumoto on February 12 at the Archaic Hall in Amagasaki, Japan.

The Iloilo City-raised Santillan (22-3-1, 16 KO's) had beaten Marumoto (19-7-1, 8 KO's) during their first encouter in 2004, but the Japanese fighter took the OPBF belt when he defeated another Japanese Hiroshi Yamaguchi who had earlier dethroned Santillan by a close verdict.

The southpaw Santillan is currently training at the Wakee Salud Gym under the watchful eyes of trainer Brix Flores.

Meanwhile, former PABA light-flyweight champ Marvin Tampus guns for the Asian Boxing Council superflyweight crown against Thailand's Devid Lookmahanak on November 10 at the MCC Hall in Bangkok's The Mall Bang Kae.

The 22-year-old Tampus, who is now managed by close Manny Pacquiao associate Rex 'Wakee' Salud, took the PABA 108-lb crown with a seventh-round demolition of Deeden Kengkarun in 2002, and defended it twice before losing it to Indonesia's Vicky Tahumil.

"I feel great and my conditioning is back. Maybe I can win another title in Thailand because I feel the same thing now when I fought Kengkarun four years ago," said Tampus.
