MAASIN CITY FIESTA AMATEUR BOXING 2012 (SECOND DAY)

MAASIN CITY, SOUTHERN LEYTE ? Tagbilaran City boxers won all their three bouts while Maasin City fighters won four out of seven bouts in the second and last day of the Maasin City Fiesta Amateur Boxing 2012. Tagbilaran boxers showed their supremacy over the hosts. While Maasin City pugs won over boxers from Padre Burgos, Liloan and Malitbog all of Southern Leyte. The bouts were held this time at the Maasin City Gymnasium.

ABAP national boxers Edileo Abrea, Jr. of Maasin City and Jerson Pagligian of Bacolod City fought an exhibition bout good for three rounds. They were coached by 1994 Hiroshima Asian Games gold medalist Elias Recaido and 2006 Doha Asian Games gold medalist Joan Tipon.

Recaido and tipon will conduct coaching clinics on August 16-18 at the City Gym on boxers, trainers and coaches.

Officiating officials were those of the ABAP-affiliated Southern Leyte Amateur Boxing Association of which this writer is the President.

Ronel Estas of Maasin City by points ? 27 kg.
David Maquiling of Malitbog, So. Leyte by points ? 30 kg.
Lloyd Antoque of Tagbilaran City by referee stopped contest ? 31 kg.
Jericho Patrimonio of Maasin City by points ? 35 points
Dandrick Sumambong of Tagbilaran City by points ? 38 kg.
Ian Napuli of Ichon, Macrohon, So. Leyte by points ? 46 kg.
Jason Becong of Maasin City by points ? 46 kg.

Alquin Silot of Malitbog, So. Leyte by points ? 48 kg.
Michael Kaibigan of Malitbog, So. Leyte by points ? 48 kg.
Renemel Crisostomo of Ormoc City by points ? 50 points
Jolito Catagasan of Malitbog, So. Leyte by referee stopped contest ? 52 kg.
Emeberto de la Cruz of Ichon, Macrohon, So. Leyte by walkover ? 53 kg.
Bobby Pia of Ichon, Macrohon, So. Leyte by points ? 54 kg.
Junior Aliasot of Ormoc City by points ? 55 kg.
