It seems there's real bad blood between Filipino Jimrex Jaca and his Mexican opponent Angel Martinez after the latter was quoted as saying the Filipino fighter is "not a power puncher."
Jaca, in an interview with leading radio boxing program 'Pinoy Boxing' on Sunday aired all over the country by RMN-DyHP, said Martinez must have been watching another video clip, and will soon realize the real Jaca has power in both hands.
"He said I am not a power puncher. He has very low regard for me. He is making me an underdog," Jaca said, his voice trembling like starved carnivore ready to strike on a hapless prey.
When told that if he is an underdog, that he can be likened to an askal (street dog) if Martinez had his way, Jaca reminded Martinez that he gave Juan Manuel Marquez one of his toughest fights when they fought back in 2006 at the Dodge Arena in Hidaldo, Texas, and that Martinez should not belittle his capacity to put the Mexican warrior to sleep.
Martinez vs Jaca will open the triple-header match-up feature in Pinoy Pride XV: Philippines vs Mexico THE REMATCH main card.
The main event features the grudge rematch between ALA fighter Jason Pagara who will take on tormentor Rosbel Montoya of Mexico for the WBO International Jr Welterweight title over 12 rounds.
Also to be featured is the very exciting and unbeaten ALA warrior Genesis Servania who will gun for the WBO Asia Pacific superbantam title against Jorge Pazos.
The Pinoy Pride XV: Philippines vs Mexico THE REMATCH will be shown via delayed telecast the next day of the event on August 19 on ABS-CBN Channel 2 10:15 am just before ASAP Rocks and replay will be on Studio 23 at 6:15 PM of the same Sunday.
As part of ALA Promotions move to make tickets accessible to the general public, the country?s premier boxing promotional outfit recently came to terms with the SM Super Malls Group through SM Tickets. These will be available at SM City Cebu and Consolacion Customer Service Counters.
SM Tickets for Pinoy Pride XV: The Rematch will also be made other outlets like the Waterfront Cebu Hotel and Casino, Mooon I.T. Park in Cebu, USA Sports outlets, GaisanoTabunok, ALA Fitness Gym at the Banila Town Center Cebu and at the ALA Head Office with Numbers 032 2364611.
