Just moments ago, Randy 'Komong Bato' Suico took the OPBF lightweight crown with a fourth-round technical knockout win over Thailand's Pongpetch Chuwatana in the mainer of a Wakee Salud card at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.

Official time was 2:08 of the 4th, after Chuwatana went down twice following big uppercuts by the dynamite-fisted Suico.

Referee Bruce McTavish did not bother to toll the count after Chuwatana's second trip to the canvas.

The win improved Suico's record to 25 wins with 22 KO's against 3 losses.

In the chief support, RP superfly champ Eden Sonsona came back strong to repulse erstwhile unbeaten challenger Jerope Mercado in the ninth round of a scheduled 12-rounder.

Mercado went down twice in the ninth, prompting referee Tony Pesons to call a halt to the otherwise competitive bout.

Other results: Apol Suico by KO1 over Jun Pader; Benedict Suico by KO2 over Edwin Ubatay; Boggie Delada by TKO1 over Mario de Asis; Gedion Amba by UD over Rolly Mandahinog; and Darell Pucdol by TKO2 over Reymund Arguedo.
