CEBU CITY--WBO no. 1 superfly Z 'The Dream' Gorres and young phenom AJ 'Bazooka' Banal both looked impressive, even as Mark Jason Melliguen had onlookers hooked to his power at Tuesday's public sparring sessions inside the swanky and upscale Fight Club at the Banila Trade Center here.

The three fighters will be featured on October 21 in a card dubbed 'War In the Ring' at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.

Gorres looked sharp and menacing as he sparred with superbantamweight Weng Haya, Banal and Sherwin Paro. The southpaw fighter from the Oscar De la Hoya's GBP then wowed the crowd in a 3-round mitt work with Freddie Roach protege Edito Villamor.

Banal, for his part, looked like a fighter way beyond his age in his sparring sessions with Gorres and Paro. 'Bazooka' then let loose of his full arsenal hitting the mitts with trainer Villamor at the receiving end of the blows.

Gorres and Banal face dangerous Indonesian fighters on October 21.

Melliguen, meanwhile, looked equally dazzling with his moves, as he trains his sight for his fifth knockout win on December 21 against Ariel Salvana. The Bacolod-raised fighter left no doubt in his potentials after a terrific workout with Glen Masicampo.

Villamor then worked the mitts on Melliguen, who happily obliged the crowd who asked for more display of his power punches.
