JARO, CONDES SET FOR MAJOR TESTS!

Two Philippine titles will be put on the line on September 17 as reigning champs Sonny Boy Jaro and Florante Condes risk their belts in the co-feature of a big card to be held at the Joe Cantada Sports Center in Taguig.

The 24-year-old Jaro, who holds the RP junior fly title, will defend his crown for the third time against the vastly-improved Along Denoy of the ALA Boxing Gym in an anticipated 12-round battle.

Denoy, who is the mandatory challenger to Jaro, has campaigned in the United States, and has shown tremendous improvement since hooking up with manager Sammy Gello-ani.

In his last outing, Denoy stopped veteran Alex Guevarra in the sixth round of a non-title fight, as he vowed to snatch the title from Jaro.

Meanwhile, power-hitting RP minimumweight champ Florante Condes of the Aljoe Jaro Stable will take on rugged Fabio Marfa of Sammy Gello-ani's SGG Stable in his second titular defense.

Condes, who has gained notoriety in the smaller category owing to his jaw-breaking power, is expected to have his hands full against the very durable Marfa. If victorious, Condes is being groomed to campaign in the United States soon.

In his last titular defense, Condes survived a two-fisted body attack by ex-WBC International titlist Armand De la Cruz to hack out an exciting fifth-round technical knockout win in front of a boisterous crowd last April 21 at the Rajah Sulaiman Park in Manila. Condes then went on to score a fourth-round knockout over Jun Ebale in a non-title bout.

Both the Jaro and Condes title fights will be covered by Fistorama.
