Britain's Anthony Martin, a long-time resident of Liloan, Cebu now based in Las Vegas, has taken the reins as trainer to the legendary Hector 'Macho' Camacho as the latter aims for a record-breaking tenth world title.

While in the Philippines, Martin had trained some of the country's best, among them Ernie Alesna, Rev Santillan, and some ALA Boys, and was the chief trainer of the JMP Boxing Club before relocating to Las Vegas where his wife Yvonne works as a nurse.

"I am now training Hector "Macho"Camacho at his request. It is his intention to have three more fights the last of them being for a title. He wants to get one more belt making it ten in all, thus holding the record. This is being made into a Reality Tv Show. His last hoorah," Martin told this writer in an email.

Today, Martin will travel to Reno, Nevada to serve as chief cutman to Thai Terdsak Jandaeng as he takes on Juan Manuel Marquez on Sunday for the interim WBO featherweight title.

As for Camacho, Martin says the legendary fighter "is great to work with, ok he is 41 and not as fast as he was, but the dedication and determination he shows in training is second to none. We train six days a week two to three hours. Every now and then you will see the flashes of brilliance when we pad work in the ring."

Lately, Martin has been credited for giving opportunities to Z Gorres, Czar Amonsot, and Along Denoy by booking them for fights at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Vegas.

"I am now seaching for other promoters to set up more fights for Tony Aldeguer's fighters," Martin enthused.
