Aguelo.
T I Yamagata Promotions of Japanese businessman Akira Sato is proud to announce this Saturday's event featuring a boxing event along with some dancing at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
This was revealed a few hours ago during a dinner press conference hosted by Sato along with matchmaker Willy Flores and boxing trainer Brix Flores.
"On Saturday, there will be boxing and dancing. After the fights, there will be dancers who will perform," Sato informed the Cebu media. Also present at the presscon was GAB Cebu supervisor Rolando Mendoza.
The main event will pit T I Yamagata Aguello of Mandaue City going up against Gadwin Tubigon of Dipolog City for the PBF featherweight championship over ten rounds.
The official weigh-in is set today at the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) office along Osmena Boulevard in Cebu City.
The supporting main event is an 8-round tiff between former WBO Asia Pacific champion Jason Egera of Siaton, Negros Oriental against Jonriel Marcos of Lanao del Norte.
"Our Japanse partner Mr Sato has high hopes that his boxers will do good, and become world champions someday," said trainer Brix Flores, one of the country's most astute ring tacticians today.
TI Yamagata Valero, who gained popularity following a successful stint at GMA's "Buhay Boksingero", will face Michael Bastasa in the other 8-round match-up.
Japan's T I Yamagata Masashi, who trained in Cebu for this fight, takes on Jaime Bermiso of Leyte in a 6-round contest.
The rest of the card features T I Yamagata Ardie against Robert Awetin, while Jayvee Galea takes on Jessie Dignos and Margarito Mora goes up against Richard Rosales.
Meanwhile, Sato also informed that should his fighter Aguello come out victorios on Saturday, the next plan is for him to fight for a bigger title some August this year.
"We want to give him a shot at a regional title that can give him a world title crack in the future. Aguello is a good fighter," said Sato.
