
PABA TITLE FIGHT IN ILOILO EYED: Elorde throws support behind GAB Iloilo office

ILOILO CITY—The son of the late legendary former World Boxing Council (WBC) jr. lightweight champion Gabriel “Flash” Elorde” has vowed to support the programs and projects of the newly built Games and Amusement Board (GAB) extension office in Brgy. Magsaysay, La Paz here even as he plans to launch an international boxing card here in tandem with Winners Gym and Winner Promotions.
Accompanied by his wife and son Bai, Johnny Elorde, an international boxing promoter, graced the opening of the GAB office last July 25 together with GAB Chairman Eric Buhain and Commissioner Alex Paglumotan.

They recently visited Iloilo and checked the status of the Elorde Lifestyle Boxing Program at Skyline Winners Gym in Jaro. All local trainors of the program were given the thumbs up and go ahead signal by their son Bai, a member of the Philippine Boxing Team training in Baguio City. The Elorde Lifestyle Boxing program is one of the newest lines of fitness programs in Winners Gym. The group also graced the blessing of the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) office at the Iloilo Sports Complex area.
“My only wish is to support all the programs and projects of the GAB Iloilo office which is a big help to all Ilonggo professional sportsmen,” Elorde said in a speech.
Elorde has informed both Buhain and Paglumotan that he intends to promote a Pan-Asian Boxing Association (PABA) championship in Iloilo City involving a Filipino boxer.
His group, Elorde Boxing and Winner Promotions composed of consultant Marlon Lumacad, Jr., chief executive officer Erwin S. Chiongson, also awarded the GAB officials with plaques of recognition for bringing to Iloilo City the GAB office.
