
BAUTISTA TAKES PART IN 'BATTLE OF THE UNDEFEATED'

Fully rejuvenated and ready to take on all comers, young boxing sensation Rey ?Boom-Boom? Bautista showcases his boxing skills in a three-round boxing exhibition as part of the boxing event ?Battle of the Undefeated? on July 22 at the Island City Mall Carpark in Tagbilaran City.
The event will be telecast by VIVA SPORTS on its top-rated boxing show 'The Main Event' on July 23 at 1:00PM over RPN 9 sponsored by Tanduay, the no. 1 Rhum.
The stunningly attractive Viva Hotbabes member Rene Summer, the 2006 Tanduay Calendar Girl, and Louis Anderson will act as ringcard girls.
Bautista, who was unable to see action on the Mano-A-Mano card last July 2, is back in form as he trades mitts with journeyman Edwin Gastador. This will be the first time Bautista climbs the ring since recovering from high fever and heavy coughing due to a viral infection he contacted a week before the July 2 event.
?I look forward to climbing the ring and putting on a good show for my fellow Boholanos,? enthuses the 19-year old phenom, ?I am thankful for all the support they have given me especially as I was not able to fight against Felix Montiel last July 2.?
Since his recuperation, Bautista has been back in training in preparation for his US stint on September 16. Bautista will be fighting in another Golden Boy promotion against a still undisclosed opponent.
'Battle of the Undefeated' boxing showdown is headlined by another Boholano upcoming boxing prospect, AJ Banal. Hailing from Corella, Bohol, the 17-year old Banal will face undefeated and three-time Indonesian champion, Ali Rochmad. This will be another acid-test for the young Banal as he hopes to add another win in an already immaculate fight record.
A special attraction bout will feature Hawaiian-based boxer, Van Oscar Penovaroff, on his second professional outing against Fernando Otik of Mandaue City.
Supporting card will include young prospects from the ALA Stable: Along Denoy, Robert Allanic, and Rey Caitom against Alex Guevarra, Danilo Pe?a and Ruel Lagonero respectively. Former Philippine Olympic team members Franklin Albia, Mark Jason Melliguen and Lito Jalnaiz will trade mitts with their counterparts from Manila and Mindanao. Other Bohol boxers who will showcase their skills includes Arnel Tadena against Surigao City?s Rodel Lamela, Leon Maratas against Esmael Mala and Ricky Sismundo against Jun Morano.
