
Macahilig-Diale PH Flyweight Championship set April 14

While the Negrenses continue to enjoy the success of the 19th Panaad sa Negros Festival, two brave protagonists are going to find their own ways to celebrate victory.
This is when the 21- year-old and ALA gym fighter Mhar Jhun Macahilig of Kalibo, Aklan challenges 23-year-old Arden Diale of Manila in the 12 rounds of tough battle for the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) Philippine Flyweight Championship belt which will be featured as main event of the Cobra Energy Drink ?Tunay na Lakas Boxing? on April 14 at the 888 China Town Square in Bacolod City.
Macahilig (14-1 with 8 KOs) came off an impressive performance last January 28 when he notched a 2nd round knockout on former world title challenger, 30-year-old in Kaichon Sor Vorapin of Thailand.
Meanwhile, the champion Diale (17-6-3 with 4 KOs) has won two titles last year, the Philippine Flyweight Championship crown against Richard Garcia via unanimous decision and later won against Lolito Sonsona for the IBF Pan Pacific Youth Flyweight belt.
Negrense and undefeated Arthur ?El matador? Villanueva (18-0 with 12 KOs) formerly hold the Philippine Flyweight Championship belt before he moved up to bantamweight division.
Fighting on April 14 undercard include Mark Acub of Antique against Rocky Sismundo of Tagbilaran City for an 8-round bout in the 130 lbs. division; Arjan Canillas of Toledo City vs. Hagibis Quinones of General Santos for a 6-rounder in the 130 lbs.
Also in the undercard, Reymund Tabogon of Misamis Oriental going up against Dingdong Quinones of General Santos for a 6-rounder in the 112 lbs.; Renan Fortes f Bacolod City slugs it out with Bryan Inojales of Tagbilaran City in a 4-round bout of the 112 lbs.; and Marlon Macayan of Antique is up against Japanese Takaoki Noma, also in a 4-round bout of the 112 lbs.
This boxing spectacular is free and open to the public.
On the other hand, weigh-in of boxer will be tomorrow at 1pm at the GAB-Bacolod Office, ground floor of Luxur Place Hotel along Magsaysay Avenue.
