AJ BANAL IN BIG TEST

Promising young super flyweight Alex John Banal who is undefeated in eight fights with seven wins, six of them by knockout and one draw, faces the biggest test of his career when he clashes with undefeated Indonesian champion Ali Rochmad in "The Battle of the Undefeated" on July 22 in Tagbilaran City.

The main event will be one of the highlights of the Sandugo Festival and will be staged at the Island City Mall car park starting at 7 p.m.

In a blockbuster card put together by well-known boxing promoter Sammy Gello-ani in cooperation with the city government of Tagbilaran City headed by respected sportsman, Mayor Dan Ner Lim, two outstanding fighters. Iight flyweight Along Denoy who is coming off an impressive showing in Las Vegas and Philippine No. 2 Robert Allanic will also see action against tough opponents.

Denoy takes on Alex Guevarra while Allanic clashes with Danilo Pena.

The supporting bouts will feature more promising fighters from the famed ALA Gym of respected boxing patron Tony Aldeguer including Rey Caitom. Nic Banal and Arnel Tadena among others.

Banal. a 17 year old southpaw is coming off a smashing TKO victory over veteran Jun Pader last July 3 also in Tagbilaran City and wowed fight fans with his performance. Prior to the Pader fight Banal scored rousing knockout victories over Thai fighters Dechapol Bankluaygym and Bangsaen Sithpraprom.

Rochamad's last fight was on December 10 last year when he knocked out Erwin Cutter after an earlier impressive KO victory over fancied Australian Nathan Sting in Jakarta.
