Juanito Ablaca, the trainer of WBA lightweight title challenger Randy Suico believes the former OPBF super featherweight champion won’t have problems moving up in weight and will "bring back the world belt to our country."

Solar Sports will telecast the title fight which is on the undercard of the rematch between Sugar Shane Mosley and Fernando Vargas at 10:00 a.m. over RPN 9.
The fights will be followed by the Philippine bantamweight championship bout between champion Michael Domingo and No.1 contender Johnny Lear on the Viva Sports, top rated weekly boxing show "The Main Event."

The Filipino trainer in an email sent to Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today by Suico’s manager, well known Japanese journalist and TV commentator Joe Koizumi said Suico is "in tip-top shape" and weighed 135 pounds after his last workout. Ablaca said Suico can regularly eat good food for brunch and dinner as he has no weight problem at all.

Suico has been training rigorously at the Maywood Boxing Gym in Los Angeles and had "very good sparring sessions" with former world champion Carlos "Famoso" Hernandez, No. 4 WBC ranked Urbano Antillon whom he decked in one sparring session and Jose Luis Soto.

The report from Koizumi said Suico sparred almost every day. He did four rounds last Tuesday, five rounds on Wednesday, seven rounds on Friday and another four rounds last Saturday.

Koizumi believes Suico is ready for what is considered an ambitious crack at the title of undefeated champion Juan Diaz on July 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Diaz has a record of 29-0 with 14 knockouts and is regarded as an excellent boxer but lacking the power of Suico.
