
Minulu-an Talisay FC over-all champ in 2012 Sinulog 7-A-Side bootfest

BACOLOD CITY ? The visiting squads of Minulu-an Talisay Football Club bagged 3 of 5 categories competed in the just-concluded 2012 Sinulog 7-A-Side Football Festival played at the Kabankalan City Football Plaza.
In the Men?s Open, the Talisaynons bested 19 other squads by beating the host-Kabankalan FC in the finals, 2-1. This Talisay club is the same squad that is also seeing action in the ongoing 1st Negros First Men?s Open Football Championships 2011 and in the North Football League.
Kabankalan FC settled 1st runner-up while the Himamaylan FC finished 2nd runner-up in the tournament.
On the other hand, the Minulu-an Talisay FC/Executive Village FC blanked the University of St. La Salle (USLS) Varsity Team-A during the championship match, 4-nil. En route the finals, the Talisaynons outplayed the USLS Varsity Team- B in the semis, 4-1.
Meanwhile, USLS Varsity Team-A ended 1st runner-up as the host-Kabankalan City FC settled 2nd runner-up after winning over USLS Varsity Team-B in the battle for third, 1-nil. Six teams competed in this division.
In the 17-Under Boys, the Minulu-an Talisay FC grabbed the title after it escaped Himamaylan FC in the finals via shootout, 3-2.
Balintawak (Escalante) Football Team bagged the 2nd runner-up honor following a 3-1 triumph via shootout against host-Kabankalan City FC.
A total of 15 teams joined this age-group.
Unlike its senior squads, the Minulu-an Talisay FC bowed to Bago City FC in the 13-Under Boys, 3-2 as the Magallon FC topped Sagasa-Bago City FC via shootout, 3-2 to book the 2nd runner-up honor.
In the 10-Under category, the St. John?s Institute FC blanked the host-Kabankalan City FC in the finals, 2-0 while Minulu-an Talisay FC won over Magallon FC via shootout, 3-1 and pocketed the 2nd runner-up honor.
The football competition was organized by the City of Kabankalan Football Club in cooperation with Kabankalan Sinulog Foundation and the City of Kabankalan under Mayor Isidro Zayco.
Talisay City Mayor Dr. Eric Saratan stressed that Minulu-an Talisay FC recent performance in the Sinulog bootfest justified that the city?s football agenda slowly picking up and little by little put on view the realization of the program.
