Just moments ago, renowned Cebuano boxing patron Antonio L. Aldeguer (ALA) took time out from his hectic corporate schedule to call up Philboxing.com and informed that his ward, Czar Amonsot, will now replace Randy Suico in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar Larios mega rumble.
Suico had to be replaced following recent developments that allow him to challenge WBA lightweight boss Juan Diaz on July 15 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in fabled Las Vegas.
Bohol's Czar Amonsot speaks to the press during last month's presscon in Cebu upon his arrival from a successful stint in the U.S. Photo by Dong Secuya.
Aldeguer stressed that everything is now a go in principle, although he has yet to hear the official purse offer to be tendered by the promoters.
Amonsot, who is now considered a marquee name following two major victories in Las Vegas, will undoubtedly add luster to this already mammoth event. His inclusion in the card will make this event more appealing especially to bean-counters who will most likely subscribe to pay-per-view to be distributed by ABS-CBN.
Rex 'Wakee' Salud, who is arranging the line-up of this titanic event, also confirmed Amonsot's participation in the card, indicating that the Tagbilaran City fighter will definitely be a big plus for the marketability of the show.
Salud also indicated that Amonsot is a big name, and should be justly compensated for his efforts.
