BACOLOD CITY ? Tickets to the first-ever world championship here in Bacolod City, which is scheduled on Oct. 8 at the University of St. La Salle, have already been out in the market.

But in less than a week, fans have been flocking the many ticket outlets to get passes to this highly-anticipated event, featuring the WBO Light Flyweight title fight between the Mexican champion Ramon ?Principe? Garcia, and the challenger former WBO Minimumweight champion Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes.

However, ALA Promotions, the organization responsible for Pinoy Pride 9 boxing spectacular, is not at all surprised with this phenomenon.

During the first Pinoy Pride show in 2010 featuring AJ ?Bazooka? Banal, the fight has garnered very high ratings in local television and even landed among the top ten shows in Mega Manila on that day.

Meanwhile, the last Pinoy Pride 8 with Milan ?El Metodico? Melindo in the main event has earned the rating of 13.8% in Mega Manila and 21% in Mindanao.

Thus, it only proved that the Pinoy Pride has indeed gained every household?s interest as well as established a name in Philippine boxing.

The Pinoy Pride 9 tickets are being sold at the ABS-CBN-Bacolod, Skycable Bacolod, University of St. La Salle, SM City Bacolod, L? Fishers Hotel, Palmas del Mar Resort Bacolod, Bascon Hotel and Cafe, 1 on 1 Boxing Gym, NABA Gym, Bacolod Pavillion Hotel and Eastview Hotel.

Tickets are priced at Php 3,000 for VIP 1st row, Php 2,000 for VIP 2nd row, Php 1,500 for VIP 3rd row, Php 1,000 for VIP 4th row, Gold Seats at Php 500, Lower Box at Php 350, and Upper Box at Php 150.

On the other hand, the Murcia-native Nietes, who will be fighting in his hometown for the second time this year, has asked his fellow Negrenses to support him as he is only fighting for the Philippines but most especially for his home province of Negros Occidental.

He, likewise, encouraged the fans to wear purple or black on fight night to show their support.

Nietes was a renowned Minimumweight world champion with a history of title defenses in his enemy?s territory. Now, he is moving up on weight and hoping to make history by becoming one of the few Filipino boxers who hold more than one world championship belt in different divisions.

The Pinoy Pride 9: WBO World Lightflyweight Championship is proudly presented to by ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports.
