PP9 public sparring hits 888 Chinatown Mall

BACOLOD CITY ? Thousands of boxing fans flocked at the 888 Chinatown Mall here in Bacolod City on Sunday, September 18 to witness the public sparring session of the Negrense boxing hero Donie ?Ahas? Nietes alongside other Filipino boxers who will be fighting in the undercard of the upcoming Pinoy Pride 9.

The fight dubbed as Pinoy Pride 9: WBO World Light Flyweight Championship between the Mexican champion Ramon ?Principe? Garcia and challenger Nietes is scheduled October 8 at the University of St. La Salle.

Meanwhile, the public sparring marked the second among many other scheduled promotional tours here in Bacolod as well as in Cebu and Manila, which aims to further campaign for this fight.

Joining Nietes during the Sunday?s sparring were his fellow ALA Gym boxer AJ ?Bazooka? Banal and the local prides, off the Top Prime Stable of Rev. Henry Guanzon, Arthur ?El Matador? Villanueva and Merlito ?D Tiger? Sabillo.

The reigning WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight champion Banal will be defending his title against the undefeated Mexican knockout artist Mario ?Maca? Briones

Villaueva, first foreign opponent, Kenyan Shaaban Madilu as Sabillo takes fellow Pinoy Rodel Tejares Singwancha for the OPBF minimumweight crown.

On the other hand, last Saturday, hundreds of mall shoppers stopped and joined the launching of the Pinoy Pride 9: WBO World Lightweight Championship.
