The third ring encounter between Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao and Mexican legend Erik Morales is now slated sometime in November, revealed Box-latino, quoting promoter Bob Arum.
The third encounter was supposed to take place on September 16 at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, but Arum hinted yesterday that it might happen in November or late October.
Arum was interviewed by the Mexican website in Las Vegas, where he was promoting the trouble-marred Floyd Mayweather-Zab Judah showdown.
Pacquiao is set to trade leathers with Mexican Oscar "Chololo" Larios on July 2 in Manila, so holding the third bout with Morales in September would be too close. The Manila card is dubbed 'Mano-Mano, Pacquiao versus Larios, Pilipinas Contra Mexico.'
A fight with Morales would require at least three months of preparation for the Filipino boxing hero.
Another arch-rival, WBC/IBF super-featherweight champ Marco Antonio Barrera, is also calling out Pacquiao for a November 4 rematch, although the GenSan lefty is more bent on honoring a third fight with Morales, which was stipulated in the contract he signed before their second bout last January 21 in Las Vegas.
