Edmundo Villamor, trainer of World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Flyweight No.1 challenger Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes, yesterday told Sun.Star-Bacolod that they are well prepared for the upcoming September 10 title fight between Nietes and Ramon Garcia Hirales.

The fight is set at the University of St. La Salle (USLS) here in Bacolod City.

Villamor said that aside from reviewing Hilares? previous fights, they are also having series of sparring matches on Nietes.

?Right now we are on tough training. We have south paw boxers serving as Nietes? sparring partners. They are Zaldy Aroa and Robert Villacampa who help Nietes in the preparation,? Villamor said.

The trainer also added that though they have already studied Hirales? fighting style but they will prepare for a 12-round fight.

On the other hand, when Nietes was asked how he weighs Hirales? capability, the Filipino fighter described the Mexican world champion to be tough and strong. ?He is a world champion. He would never be if he is not a good fighter. And this coming fight would be tough,? Nietes explained.

Likewise, Nietes won?t make any prediction on the match?s outcome. He stressed that Hirales, being a world champion will strive to defend his crown over the Filipino challenger.

?I will just do my best to win this fight,? Nietes said.
Meanwhile, the fight was brought back to Bacolod after ALA Promotions saw how the Negrenses showed their support to Nietes during his last April 9 clash against Mexican Armando Vasquez.

?Despite the Panaad Festival celebration last April, we saw how the Negrenses expressed their support to Donnie during his fight at USLS,? ALA Promotions President and CEO Michael Aldeguer said during the recent press conference held in Bacolod.
