Pan Asia Boxing Association (PABA) super-featherweight king Jun Paderna of the Wakee Salud Stable will headline an explosive card being put up in time for the first-ever GAB Annual Boxing Convention, a brainchild of Chairman Eric Buhain, on April 21 at the Rajah Sulaiman Park in Manila.

Paderna, making his first defense, will take on the tough-as-nails Kularbdang Kiatkrerin of Saraburi Province, Thailand in a 12-round battle.

However, PABA director-general Alan Kim, who is credited for his tremendous assistance to the upcoming GAB conclave, has yet to approve Kiatkrerin as Paderna's foe.

The Cebu-based Paderna took the PABA title with an earth-shaking first-round knockout over then champion Suttisak Samaksaman last February 10 in a grudge rematch of their previous bout won by the Thai in a controversial decision. Their first bout, held on Nov. 17, 2005, saw the Thai kissing the canvas in the 5th and 12th round, but the local boy came out a unanimous decision victor.

The historic GAB Annual Convention, patterned after the major conventions held annually by major boxing bodies, will be held on April 18 to 21, with no less than President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo gracing the affair.

In the chief support, RP minimumweight kingpin Florante Condes defends his title for the first time against Armand De la Cruz in an anticipated showdown.

Also set to trade leathers are Jaime Barcelona of Bukidnon against Sorsogon's Michael Farenas.
