This Saturday's 12-round battle for the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation superflyweight title is green and go as Thai Waenpetch Chuwatana, who will rumble with Mandaue's Z "The Dream" Gorres, arrives tonight in Cebu with his team solidly behind him.
The Bangkok-based Chuwatana, the former OPBF titleholder, arrives in Mactan today on a PAL flight PR 855 with Thai judge Pinit Prayadsab, his trainer, and his manager Mr. Angmo.
Meanwhile, Gorres and Chuwatana are set to meet for the first time on Thursday with international promoter Sammy "Don King" Gello-ani as they guest at the weekly SCOOP Forum hosted by Bobby 'Knight' Inoferio starting at 11:30 at the Baseline Restaurant.
Sponsored by Penrex, this Thursday's media forum allows the two protagonists to answer queries from the media.
Aside from the Gorres-Chuwatana bout, this Saturday's mammoth boxing event will also showcase two international bouts plus one Philippine title go.
WBO Asia Pacific super-featherweight champ Czar Amonsot is slated to face Thai Dechco Bankluaygym in a 10-round affair, while fast-rising AJ Banal goes up against another Thai, Dechapol Bankluaygym.
An interesting 12-round rumble also takes place when ALA Boy Rocky Fuentes shoots it out with Wakee Salud protege Jojo Bardon for the vacant RP flyweight tiara.
Six more explosive bouts are scheduled in the undercard.
