In a scary display of power, 18-year-old Benedict Suico lived up to his pedigree as he poleaxed Jojo Rodrigo in the third round of a scheduled 10-rounder moments ago at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.
With his more famous uncle Randy Suico watching from ringside, Benedict unleashed a left-right to the midsection which ended matters for Rodrigo, who crumpled to the canvas as referee Tony Pesons tolled the count.
Up next for the heavy-punching Suico is a fight in Africa for an international crown, said a source.
In the chief support, unbeaten Bonbon Pumar was stretched to the limit, but proved too skillful for veteran Rolando Toyogon en route to a one-sided unanimous decision win.
Bogie Delada, another unbeaten prospect, figured in a fight with Rolly Mandahinog, before prevailing on a third-round TKO at the 1:35 mark.
Ramil Caballes also stopped Tata Regatuna in the second canto, while Dexter Delada fashioned out a unanimous decision over crowd-pleasing Jaimer Acerda.
Other bouts saw Roel Laguna winning by TKO in the second round over Tata Ramuga; Gedion Amba by TKO in the opening round over Bobong Valdez; and Jayson Oyao stopped Efren Temblor in the first round.
The fight was sponsored by superstar Manny Pacquiao, Circulan Vitamins, Cong. Butch Pichay, Ching Palace Restaurant (Manny Pacquiao's favorite resto), PKL Transport, Blue Blade Call Center, and Edison Artcraft.
