Top-ranked OPBF superfly Z "The Dream" Gorres and WBO Asia-Pacific super-featherweight king Czar Amonsot are set to face separate foes on February 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Guilty Promotions, the outfit tasked to promote the event, has indicated that they are pitting the southpaw Gorres (21-1-1, 12 KO's), who is awaiting for his crack at the OPBF 115-lb title this year, against US-based Mexican Samuel Lopez (17-3, 6 KO's), a dangerous veteran who has been campaigning in the bigger bantamweight category.
Lopez, the WBA Fedelatin bantamweight champion, recently took highly-rated Heriberto Ruiz to school with a majority decision last September. The 31-year-old Mexico City-born fighter is also the former Californian bantamweight champion and rated IBF# 11 and WBA # 14.
The southpaw Amonsot (13-1-1, 10 KO's), coming off an eighth-round knockout over Indon Victor Mausol last month, is groomed to battle 21-year-old American Arturo Quintero (14-3, 9 KO's).
"Negotiations are now being made depending on the availability and willingness the of the proposed opponents for Gorres and Amonsot," a source from the ALA Gym said.
Both Gorres and Amonsot are set to depart for the United States on December 27, and will then hook up with their manager Tony Aldeguer and trainer Edito Villamor. The two fighters will most likely train at the Wild Card Gym of renowned tactician Freddie Roach.
