Plans are now afoot for reigning World Boxing Council Continental Americas super-featherweight king Bobby Pacquiao to defend his title on February 4 as an undercard atttaction to the exciting trilogy between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo.

The event, according to popular website Boxrec.com, set to be staged at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.

In an interview with this writer yesterday, Pacquiao's manager Rex "Wakee" Salud had confirmed that indeed, a February 4 playdate is being floated around by organizers although an opponent has yet to be announced.

"Yes, that's what they told me. February 4 is the date and no opponent yet," Salud revealed in a call made to this writer.

On top of the list of Bobby Pacquiao's possible opponent should be ex-IBF super-featherweight champ Carlos "Famoso" Hernandez, whose camp had loudly protested his split decision loss to Pacquiao when they first met last October 8 in Las Vegas.

An encore of their first showdown should put closure as to who really is the better fighter.

A source close to the Pacquiao camp said yesterday that Bobby is currently in General Santos City "taking life easy" following his huge win over Hernandez. The same source said Bobby has yet to report to the gym.

"I don't know when he is going to report to the gym. He is always around the city with his friends," the source said.
