World Boxing Foundation junior welter king Dindo Castanares travels to Japan for the fifth time in his career today, ready to rumble in the trilogy with Japanese Daigoro Yamamoto as they duke it out once again on Sunday at the IMP Hall in Osaka, Japan.
Castanares takes a PAL flight bound for Japan today with trainer Jeremiah Quijano, said a source at the ALA Gym, where Castanares has been training for this grudge encounter.
Their first two bouts ending in a draw, this time, Castanares (16-3-2, 12 KO's)and Yamamoto (9-2-3, 7 KO's) are set to put closure to their rivalry which started when they first traded leathers three years ago in Japan and saw them wanting for more after 10 rounds of give-and-take war.
Last September 11, their second face-off ended abruptly when Yamamoto suffered a deep gash following a collision of heads in the opening round of a scheduled 10-rounder at the same venue.
"I'm sure he is going to prepare better this time. So do I," said Castanares in an interview earlier. Although his WBF title will not be at stake, Castanares said the bragging rights as to who is the better banger is equally essential.
