One of the country's most exciting fighters, World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific bantam king Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista will defend his title for the second time when he faces Tanzanian Obote "Thunder" Ameme in a blockbuster twinbill on November 19 at the Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Bautista is coming off a scintillating third-round knockout victory over Felix Flores Murillo last September 10 in Los Angeles, underneath the Manny Pacquiao-Hector Velazquez bout which also showcased Fil-Am Brian Viloria winning the WBC light flyweight diadem.

"This is going to be the biggest boxing event in the history of Bohol," declared Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim, referring to the double championship card, during the formal launching of the event Monday evening in Cebu attended by members of the Cebu media.

The 19-year-old Bautista (17-0, 13 KO's) stakes all the marbles against the tough-as-nails Ameme (27-9, 22 KO's).
The event will showcase another Boholano fighter, Czar Amonsot, who will challenge WBO Asia Pacific super-featherweight titlist Victor Mausol of Indonesia in another 12-round affair.
The card, which is expected to bring in 25,000 fans, will be covered by Viva Sports and will be aired the following day.
"We might as well enjoy this fight, as this will be Bautista's last fight in the Philippines. He will be campaigning in the US after this," added Lim, who also divulged that proceeds of this event will be used to help Bautista's foreign campaign.
To prepare for Ameme, Bautista will spar against the likes of RP bantam champ Michael Domingo, and fellow ALA Boys AJ Banal, Sherwin Paro, and Robert Allanic.
Also gracing last night's press conference were Cebu boxing patron Tony Aldeguer, who manages Bautista, promoter Sammy "Don King" Gello-ani, Luisito Espinosa's manager Joe Robles, power-couple Michael and Christine Aldeguer, and Lim's executive assistant Mark Monton.
Bautista, meanwhile, is set to grace today's PSA Forum in Manila along with Mayor Lim, Aldeguer and Gello-ani.
