The ten-round super flyweight battle between Joel Rafols (8-6-2, 2 KO?s) and Menard Zaragoza (6-1, 1 KO) will be telecast on the top-rated weekly boxing show ?The Main Event? on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. over RPN 9.

The fight was the featured bout in an exciting 70 round card staged in Porac, Pampanga by matchmaker Ronald Jerez and supported by the local officials.

A large crowd watched the fights in the sweltering heat and were not disappointed.

The other bouts on the undercard will be telecast over the succeeding weeks on ?The Main? Event sponsored by Tanduay, the No. 1 Rhum.

At the same time Solar Sports informed us that the impressive 11th round TKO victory of promising Johnreil Casimero over highly-fancied Cesar Canchila of Colombia will be telecast at 7:30 p.m. on RPN 9.

In the fight which was held in Managua, Nicaragua last December 19, Casimero?s stunning victory earned him the WBO light flyweight interim title as he dropped Canchilla no less than five times before the referee stepped in to call a halt.

Casimero who is undefeated with a record of 14-0 with 8 knockouts was originally scheduled to fight unbeaten Puerto Rican Ivan Calderon for the WBO title at Madison Square Garden on June 12 but the handlers of Casimero including matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz and the handlers of Calderon reportedly agreed to have the Filipino defend his interim title against Ramon Garcia Hirales (12-1-1, 8 KO?s) of Mexico.

Meantime, Calderon will defend his title against Jesus Iribe who has a record of 16-6-5 with 10 knockouts . Iribe lost by a ten round unanimous decision against then IBF champion Brian Viloria in Honolulu last August.
