Featherweight challenger Bernabe Concepcion (28-3-1, 15 KO?s) has left for Puerto Rico for a big press conference that will officially announce the July 10 title fight between the hard-hitting Filipino prospect and reigning WBO champion and awesome power punching southpaw Juan Manuel ?Juanma? Lopez (28-0, 25 KO?s) on July 10.

Concepcion was accompanied by pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz since Concepcion fights abroad under the aegis of MP Promotions of the ?Fighter of the Decade.?

After the news conference Concepcion will return to Manila before leaving for the Wild Card Gym of Freddie Roach in Los Angeles on May 28.

He will be accompanied by Filipino trainer Restituto ?Buboy? Fernandez and promising bantamweight Eden Sonsona who will also see action on the July 10 fight card in Puerto Rico.

Lopez, the former super bantamweight champion moved up to featherweight and won the title with a smashing 7th round TKO over champion Steven Luevano on January 23, 2010.

Concepcion himself had Luevano on the verge of a possible stoppage in a title fight on August 15, 2009 but was disqualified when he punched Luevano after the bell ending round seven and was disqualified by referee Jay Nady.

Since then Concepcion scored a good ten round decision over previously undefeated Mario Santiago at the Las Vegas Hilton on February 13 in the ?Pinoy Power III/Latin Fury 13? fight card telecast in the Philippines by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN.

Pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao who was at special ringside for the fights said he would spend some time with Concepcion and advise him on how to handle Lopez who was also at the Hilton to watch Concepcion beat Santiago which earned the 22 year old Filipino the title shot.
