Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation super-featherweight champ Randy "Komong Bato" Suico isn't about to sulk in one corner after his loss to Mexican Javier Jauregui recently in Los Angeles.
The 25-year-old Suico, who absorbed a stinging majority decision defeat to Jauregui last September 23, told this writer the other day that his manager, Japanese boxing impresario Joe Koizumi, has told him that he will be sent to Australia for further training, although he did not divulge the location and name of the gym where he will be training.
"Larga tingali mi sa ako trainer (Juanito Ablaca) karong sunod bulan. Adto na ko mag-train, then duwa ko usab sa America," (I might leave with my trainer to Australia next month. I'll train there, and possibly get another fight in the US), Suico said.
Koizumi had earlier indicated that his ward might defend his OPBF title next, which was not put on the line when he took on Jauregui in a 10-round fight.
"Kusog kaayo modagan si Jauregui oy. Maglisod ko og dakop. Pero daug gyud ko ingon sila," Suico intimated, referring to Jauregui's tactic of running from him in the last four rounds of the fight.
