Three promising fighters from the famed ALA Gym in Cebu are rearing to put on a show for fight fans in modern Dubai in an effort to help well-known KO Promotions owner Zac Taumafai push the sport in this part of the world.

The fight card at the sprawling Chi Lodge which is one of the top nite spots in Dubai features undefeated WBC Youth Intercontinental flyweight champion Milan Melindo against a last minute replacement for Devis Perez of Colombia who was stranded in Bogota because of the ash fall from the Iceland volcano that disrupted flight schedules.

The replacement, Thailand?s Komrit Twins Gym, nicknamed ?The Boomer? is scheduled to arrive in Dubai at 6:00 p.m. Thursday for a late weigh-in approved by Games and Amusements Board boxing division chief Dr. Nasser Cruz. Komrit has a record of 15-3 with 11 knockouts.

At the official weigh-in at the beautiful Dusit Thani Hotel Melindo tipped the scales at 110 pounds while Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista came in at 122 for his super bantamweight battle against Thai Saichon Sotompitak who was half-a-pound less at 122. 5 pounds.

Bautista will put his record of 27-2, 20 knockouts on the line against Saichopn who has a record of 10-1 with 5 knockouts.

A muscular Larry ?Bon Jovi? Canillas came in at 119 pounds to the 117 of Tanzania?s Fred Sayuni.

Canillas who boasts of 8 knockouts in 9 wins with 2 defeats is determined to improve his standings against Sayuni who has a record of 6-3-4 with 3 knockouts but has warned ?Bon Jovi? not to take him for granted as he had trained hard for this fight.

A roster of top boxing officials from the Philippines headed by Dr. Cruz, internationally respected referee Bruce McTavish of New Zealand, Filipino international referee Ver Abainza and Ben Necessario was also in the bteam which includes journalist and boxing judge Salven Lagumbay and the owner of the popular internet site philboxing.com, Dong Secuya.

Also in Dubai to supervise the television coverage of the fights by a local entity for telecast over the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN is director Lee Japa.
