World Boxing Foundation junior welter king Dindo Casta?ares figured in a first-round technical draw with Japanese Daigoro Yamamoto due to an accidental clash of heads in their scheduled 10-rounder Sunday night at the IMP Hall in Osaka, Japan.

Yamamoto, Japan's no. 3 super-welterweight and a stablemate of WBC superfly king Masamori Tokuyama, suffered a nasty cut in his left eyebrow, forcing the referee to stop the bout at the 1:20 mark of the opening round upon the advice of the ring physician.

Castanares now moves to 16 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws, with 12 KO's, while Yamamoto is now 9-2-3, 7 KO's.

In the undercard, Filipino Jojo Bardon, stopped Japanese Yasuyuki Kodama at the 42-second mark of the third round, after a Bardon blow produced a deep cut on the Japanese.

Another Filipino, Robert Dalisay, was not as lucky as he was decisioned over ten rounds by Japanese Nobuto Ikehara of the Osaka Teiken Promotions.
