WHY NOT THE MABUHAY SINGERS TO SING NATIONAL ANTHEM AT PACQUIAO-CLOTTEY?

There is often a tug-of-war over who should be chosen to sing the Philippine national anthem at the fights of "Fighter of the Decade" Manny Pacquiao and his showdown with Ghana's Joshua Clottey is no exception.
Pacquiao himself can settle the issue right away by choosing the wonderful Mabuhay Singers who celebrate their 50th anniversary this year to do the honors.
The Mabuhay Singers are undoubtedly among the country's foremost musical and cultural ambassadors known for promoting kundiman and traditional Filipino music and would certainly enthrall the expected huge crowd at the $1.2 million Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas.
Xeres R. Guia, the manager and marketing director of the group has sought our assistance in getting the dream of the Mabuhay Singers become a reality. He said "It’s high time that the Mabuhay Singers, a beacon of Filipino music and culture, sing the most important tune of the country.'
"It’d be good, very much needed publicity for the group. Manny Pacquiao stands to benefit from this as well, showing support for the Filipino singing ambassadors when, sadly, not a lot of people have."
