MANAGER PREDICTS DENKAOSAN WILL BEAT DAIKI KAMEDA IN REMATCH

Boxing manager Niwat Laosuwannawat is confident WBA flyweight champion Denkaosan Kaovichit will beat Daiki Kameda in their rematch in Japan in early February.
Denkaosan defeated Kameda in his title defense in Osaka on October 6 last year but the decision was considered controversial and the head of Kameda’s gym even threatened to file a protest with the WBA.
As a result both camps agreed on a rematch which is scheduled to take place in Kobe, Japan on February 7.
Siam Sports quoted Niwat as saying that Denkaosan is in prime condition but will continue to train because the rematch with Kameda will be crucial to his world championship career.
Former world champion Khaosai Galaxy and long-time trainer Durong Apollo are handling the training of Denkaosan.
Niwat told Siam Sports Denkaosan “has never been in a training program this intense. This time I get to train him hard, but it’s for his sake and his future. I sympathize with him, but everything must continue this way.”
Denkaosan will spar a few rounds before focusing on losing 3-5 pounds. He is scheduled to leave for Japan on February 1 (Monday)..
Niwat noted that the Thai world champion has a great right but hardly uses it like he should. The manager disclosed that the plan for the rematch is for Denkaosan to be aggressive since he believes the agile Kameda will not be able to stand an exchange of big punches.
The manager said “We must know how to punch. If we do, I guarantee we will win this fight easily in comparison to the earlier matches. Kameda will give up once he has been tired out, but this will depend on how much we could pressure him.”
“I believe Kameda is not better than Denkaosan. In fact, Denkaosan’s skill is superior and his punches are heavier, not to mention that he is stronger. I don’t see any disadvantages for Denkaosan in this fight, although he must not underestimate Kameda.”
Niwat promises a “shocking” fight in Denkaosan’s next title defense should he defeat the Japanese. The boxing manager hinted that the Thai champion may face Daiki Kameda’s older brother Koki Kameda, who holds the WBC flyweight title.
Daiki Kameda who recently trained for ten days at the Elorde Gym in Sucat, Paranaque told www.insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports that this time around he won’t leave the decision in the hands of the judges and was “sure to knock him (Denkaosan) out because he is old and I have trained well and had some good sparring in the Philippines. I am sure I will knock him out.”
