Specialists at the Makati Medical Center have cleared former IBF light flyweight champion Brian Viloria to travel to the US following one final check-up Wednesday afternoon.

Viloria who collapsed in his dressing room from sheer exhaustion after losing his title to Carlos Tamara of Colombia in the final minutes of the twelfth round of a terrific fight in Solar Sports “Collision Course” fight card at the Cuneta Astrodome is expected to leave for the US with longtime girlfriend Erika Navarro on Sunday.

Doctors gave the gallant former two-time world champion a clean bill of health although Dra. Regina Makalintal told us last Saturday that he would need to rest for a couple of weeks.

Viloria, Ms. Navarro and manager Gary Gittelsohn have expressed their gratitude to Filipino fight fans who have continued to support him and prayed for his speedy recovery even as they praised him for putting up an exciting fight against a worthy challenger.
