WBC/WBA super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan wants his grudge rematch against current WBA interim champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire to be held in Australia early next year.

Darchinyan made the statement following his arrival from the US along with Danny Green who scored a stunning first round knockout over Roy Jones Jr which is now being protested on the grounds that Green used padded handwraps.

Darchinyan who lost his IBF/IBO flyweight belts to Donaire via a shocking fifth round, one-punch knockout in July 2007 that was named “Knockout of the Year” first avoided Donaire claiming it wasn’t worth fighting him but after he lost in a bantamweight title fight to Joseph Agbekoand then came down to super flyweight and knocked out Mexico’s Tomas Rojas , Darchinyan has been calling out Donaire.

Darchinyan claimed that “the only man close in my division is Nonito Donaire and I told him I want to fight you. Just accept my fight because you’re interim champion, you have to take the fight.”

Donaire is scheduled to face Mexico’s Gerson Guerrero in the Top Rank promotion “Pinoy Power III” on February 13 at the Las Vegas Hilton and has said before he was prepared to fight Darchinyan anytime but that the venue and the terms would have to be negotiated by his promoter.
