Undefeated junior middleweight Shawn “Showtime” Porter has kept his win streak going with another smashing victory over previously unbeaten Jamar “Young Prince” Patterson in a fight card at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota on Saturday (Manila Time).

Porter who has quickly developed a fan following in the Philippines following his involvement as a prime sparring partner in helping Filipino boxing hero and pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao prepare for his showdown with WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto last November 14 in Las Vegas, dropped Patterson with a vicious left hook in round four and immediately went after the hapless Patterson forcing referee Celestino Ruiz to call a halt.

With the win the 22 year old Porter who approximated the style of Cotto in his sometimes torrid sparring sessions with Pacquiao improved his record to 12-0 with 10 knockouts while Patterson who suffered his first setback dropped to 8-1 with 4 knockouts.

Prior to his fight against Patterson, Porter told us about his experience as a sparring partner of Pacquiao. “Being in the ring with one of the greats is an experience I'll never forget. He works hard and has fun, and to watch Pacman and Freddie in the ring together is nothing short of awesome. I was also able to test myself as a pro boxer, and now I have no doubt I'll be one of the best soon,” said Porter.

Porter said he is always looking to do his best and “my best is usually getting a knockout” which is what he was able to accomplish against the talented Patterson.
