Top-ranked OPBF superfly Z "The Dream" Gorres and Thai Deeden Kengkarun will face the media today during the weekly PSA Forum to answer queries regarding their fight this Saturday at the 6,000-capacity New San Andres Civic & Sports Center.
Kengkarun, together with his trainer, arrived last night in Manila, confident that he has what it takes to defeat the talented southpaw from Cebu.
Gorres will be joined at today's forum by Los Angeles-based Michael Koncz, Cebu promoter Sammy "Don King" Gello-ani, and WBO Asia Pacific bantam boss Rey Bautista.
Gorres and Kengkarun face off in an OPBF eliminator dubbed "Return of the Z."
On Wednesday, the duo will have a press public preview at the Wild Card Gym at 1:00 p.m. and on Thursday afternoon will pay a courtesy call on Viva Entertainment Group Inc., president Vic del Rosario who is promoting the fight card.
The official weigh-in is set at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the fight venue, which is just near the Malate Church and right across Roxas Boulevard, some walking distance from the Aristocrat Restaurant. Two of the Viva Hot Babes will again grace the weigh-in as they did for the Bautista-Bolanos fight and will act as round card girls on fight night while Viva recording star Jennifer Bautista will sing the national anthem.
Admission to the fight, sponsored by Tanduay the no. 1 rhum, is free courtesy of Manila Mayor Lito Atienza, Ali Atienza, chairman of the Manila Sports Council and Vic Del Rosario.
The fights will be telecast on the top-rated, weekly boxing show MAIN EVENT on Sunday, July 31 at 1:00 p.m. over RPN 9.
