ALA fighter Mark Jason Melligen aims to put his training a notch higher in the next few days as he prepares for his November 13 showdown with Mexican Michel Rosales at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Las Vegas-based trainer Tony Martin, an a message to this writer, informed that Melligen has been seriously training under his care, and ALA Gym trainer Edmund Villamor is scheduled to fly in later to join the group.
"Both Mark and (Z) Gorres will be main and co main events of the card, and on the same card (heavyweight) Samuel Peters will be fighting," said Martin, referring to the event which will be held on the eve of the huge Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto war.
Martin indicated that training is going on schedule, and he is more than satisfied with the development.
"For the next three weeks we will be sparring with Ramon Montano every other day, who by the way will be fighting Zab Judah on the first week of November. As Judah is a southpaw and Rosales is orthodox, it can only be beneficial for Montano and Mark. We have three other boxers in the gym, who we will use for sparring on a round robin basis, with one of them being six foot in height," added Martin.
