Ellis vs Kiatchanachai in Asian Title Unification

After months of negotiating, the highly anticipated matchup between half-Filipino prospect Heath “The Heat” Ellis and Denkamol “Krabi Kid” Kiatchanachai will finally take place on November 20th at the famed Malvern Town Hall in Melbourne, Australia.
The twenty-one year old Ellis (10-1-1, 6 KO’s) and twenty-two year old Kiatchanachai (10-1, 5 KO’s) were originally booked in to fight for the IBO World Youth welterweight title on a Peter Maniatis promotion on July 24th, however Ellis suffered a severe injury to his bicep causing him to withdraw from the eagerly anticipated matchup. This of course was met with a harsh reaction from Kiatchanachai who recently spoke to PhilBoxing through a translator from his training camp in his hometown of Krabi, Thailand.
“Like I mentioned previously in my interview with PhilBoxing, I was doubtful that Ellis wanted to fight me as our fight had been cancelled many times. Now I am certain that Ellis does not want to fight me... I think he is just looking for an excuse not to fight”.
“Although I was disappointed that the fight was postponed, I am very happy to now be fighting for three belts instead of one. This has provided me with more motivation to push myself harder in my training. After this fight Thailand will have two new unified Asian Champions as Fahsan (3K Battery) will win two belts in Russia and after I win three in Australia”.
As promised Peter Maniatis said he would stage the fight on his next promotion and he has stuck to his word putting on this Asian Title Unification fight. Ellis and Kiatchanachai will now not only be fighting for Ellis’ IBF Pan Pacific welterweight title, but they will also be fighting for the interim WBC Asian Boxing Council and interim PABA welterweight titles.
When asked about the bout, Ellis’ manager Elio Doria was persistent in stating that the break had done his fighter well and that we will see a rejuvenated Ellis come the time of the fight.
“Heath was really looking forward to facing Denkamol on July 24th and he was very upset for obvious reasons when he injured his bicep. However the break has done him a world of good and he is looking forward to putting on a real good show for all the fans and he looks forward to becoming the first Australian to unify all three major regional titles in the one night.”
The time for talk is nearly over and now both fighters must do the talking with what really counts, their fists.
