ALA fighter Mark Jason Melligen is set to once again show his wares in the United States when he tangles with Mexican Michel "El Bravo" Rosales on November 13 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Melligen vs Rosales was supposed to take place on August 15 also at the Hard Rock for the "Pinoy Power 2 " card promoted by Top Rank, but the Mexican warrior could not get his US visa in time for the fight. Melligen went on to beat late replacement Ernesto Zepeda in a fourth-round TKO that had Bob Arum salivating over the Bacolod City-raised puncher.
"Mark will now be fighting on the 13th of November along with (Z) Gorres at the Hard Rock Hotel, here in Vegas. Mark's opponent will be Michel Rosales. Should be a very good fight," informed Las Vegas-based Tony Martin, who is taking care of Melligen's training in Sin City.
"We are now in training in preparation for this coming fight, as we know this will be his toughest test to date. But he will be sparring with top caliber fighters. his training will be hard and his conditioning will be 100%," added Martin, who observed that Arum was still on cloud nine following Melligen's latest win.
"Mr. Arum thinks the world of Mark, and sees a very bright future for him. Therefore we will be at our best come every fight, by not only winning, but winning well," says Martin.
Even the normally brash Floyd Mayweather Jr, who is himself training for a fight against Juan Manuel Marjquez, has observed that Melligen can go far in boxing. "He will be the next Filipino world champion," Mayweather was quoted as saying.
"We intend to maintain a very hard training schedule, and every day improve on his skills to make that comment come true," assured Martin.
