Nietes.
GMA-7 is set to air on delayed telecast the title defense of WBO minimumweight champ Donnie Nietes against interim champion Manuel Vargas on August 1 in Mexico.

The television network announced this yesterday, which was confirmed by sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer who said that the delayed telecast takes place a week after the fight.

The ALA fighter Nietes will be making his second defense in Mexico following a definitive win over Mexican Eric Ramirez in February in Oaxaca, Mexico which improved his record to 24-1-3, 14 KO's.

Nietes is currently training at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles under trainer Edmund Villamor, and gets useful tips from renowned trainer Freddie Roach.

Meanwhile, another ALA fighter Mark Jason Melligen is currently busy preparing for his August 15 outing in Las Vegas.

Melligen, who works out at the Mayweather Gym under Tony Martin and Edito Villamor, has been doing hard training by running uphills on Saturdays, doing sprints on Tuesdays, and long runs on Thursdays.

"Inside the gym he does plyometrics, intensive workout, power push up for conditioning, punch mitts, bagging, skip rope, speedball and shadow-boxing," said trainer Villamor in a message from Las Vegas yesterday.
