WBC International super-flyweight champion Sylvester Lopez keeps his streak going by stopping veteran Noel Sungahid in the third round of their 10-round main event non-title bout fought at the bantamweight level held last night at the Elorde Sports Center, Sucat. Still riding on his recent success of acquiring his regional belt, Lopez immediately controlled the action with a sustained attack leading to the stoppage. A big right to the body decked Sungahid who decided that he had received enough punishment and quit the bout giving Lopez a TKO victory.

In contrast, WBC International light-flyweight champion Julius Alcos had a tough time against the unpredictable Roy Jones Picardal in their 110-lbs. 10-round non-title bout and had to settle for a split-decision victory.
