ALA fighter Mark Jason Melligen, who is now promoted by Top Rank, will face Mexican Fabian "El Lobo" Luque in an 8-round bout as part of the Zanfer Promotions event featuring 16 bouts at the Gimnasio Oscar "Tigre" Garcia in Ensenada, Baja Califonia.

Working Melligen's corner today will be Las Vegas-based Anthony Martin and Filipino trainer Edito Villamor.

"We are here with only one purpose in mind, that is to win, and win big," said Martin, who is credited for his efforts in guiding Melligen's training in Las Vegas for several weeks now.

Melligen, who recently inked a promotional deal with Top Rank, has so far racked up two victories in his American campaign, and is expected to be on track for bigger fights if he keeps winning under Bob Arum's promotional firm.

Both Melligen and Luque came in at 145 lbs during official weigh-in yesterday. The bouts will be broadcast live by TV Azteca and Azteca America.

In the main event, super welterweight Luis ?Pretty Boy? Uribe (21-0, 16 KOs) will take on Michel Rosales (23-3, 21 KOs). Local fighter Joksan Hernandez (15-1, 9 KOs), marked 129.5 pounds, half a pound below the limit of 130, while his rival, the world ranked Hector Velasquez (51-12-2, 35 KOs), made 130.

Opening the live telecast will be the youngest of the Chavez family, Omar (15-0-1, 11 KOs) who will fight in his first six round bout against Patrick ?Raging Bull? Cape (5-6-0, 3 KOs). Both boxers weighed in at 146 pounds.
