Step aside, you Hattonites!

The no. 1 cheerleader for Team Pacquiao has landed in Los Angeles yesterday as superstar Manny Pacquiao's mom Dionesia landed on American soil for the first time mainly to cheer for his legendary son when he tangles with British icon Ricky Hatton on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Dionesia Pacquiao stepped out of the PAL flight yesterday and unto the Tom Bradley International Terminal in Los Angeles, as throngs of mediamen awaited for her arrival as if she was a celebrity herself about to step into tinseltown.

She was warmly welcome by PAL attendants on her way to Los Angeles, and a well-rested Mrs Dionesia Pacquiao came out of the plane smiling to a crowd of curious co-passengers and onlookers at the airport.

"Grabe the media people who waited for her. That was very impressive!" said PAL's Shelvy De la Calzada-Tinoco.

Mrs Dionesia Pacquiao then boarded a waiting vehicle just outside the airport terminal, and was whisked away to the ritzy Palazzo, where her pound-for-pound king son was going to meet her.

Mrs. Dionesia Pacquiao has been a major inspiration of the Pacman, as she almost always prays while fights of her son were on-going during previous stints in the US.

She was once seen praying the rosary while her famous son was exchanging leathers with future Hall of Famer Oscar de la Hoya, as well as during the Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera bouts.

"She is Pacquiao's secret weapon. The Lord always grants her request," said Cebu mediaman Edward Ligas, who covered the Pacquiao-De la Hoya fight last December.
