Oaxaca, Mexico (Feb. 27, ?09) ? ?Oaxaca De Campeonato? at the outdoor venue Auditorio Guelguetza, tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 28th will be headlined by Filipino Boxer Donnie Nietes of ALA Boxing Gym who defends his world title for the second time.

Before we departed Hotel Oaxaca Dorado to the venue of the weigh-in, Ignacio ?Nacho? Huizar Robles of KO Entertainment stated: ?Team Nietes should realize that even though I am the promoter and Eric Ramirez is my fighter, the main thing that I want is a good, clean, hard fight?and may the best man win?and that everybody will come out of this fight in good health.?
Upon arrival at the weigh-in venue that was held in front of La Soledad Cathedral at Oaxaca?s City Center (El Centro) plaza, a huge crowd slowly gathered to witness the event at 1 pm today. The local Mexican Boxing Commissioner stated: ?This is a historic moment for us here in Oaxaca. This is the first time we have a big event like this with a triple world championship fights. We are very excited and welcome to our beautiful city.?
ALA Vice Pres. Dennies Canete said: ?This another chance for Donnie Nietes to prove that he is a legitimate World Champion. This is the dream of Donnie and I?m happy that I am here to support him.?
Eric Ramirez told the Mexican press: ?I am ready to step in the ring and I waited so long to be a world champion?nine years?I have a big responsibility to my people of Oaxaca who are very dear to me. I feel very comfortable because all the people of Oaxaca are supporting me. I intend to leave the ring as the new WBO world champion.?
The WBO Champ Donnie Nietes told this writer when asked about the comments of the challenger Ramirez: ?I am very sorry but I won?t let that happen. I hope they understand that I?ve worked hard for this and will make sure that nobody takes it away from me. I intend to take back the belt with me to the Philippines.?
Donnie Nietes flies back to L.A. on Sunday morning but will arrive early morning on March 4th in Manila, Philippines. His fight will be televised live in Mexico and other countries but will be shown on a delayed telecast in the Philippines.
