Z "The Dream" Gorres and Milan Milendo lay it all on the line on March 14 when they co-headline the "Judgement at the Waterfront" boxing extravaganza opposite two former world champions at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
At the official launch of the event yesterday at the Sugbahan Restaurant along AS Fortuna, both Gorres and Milendo faced the local media, indicating their readiness to take on their two dangerous opponents.
Gorres will face former IBF minimumweight champion Roberto "Mako" Leyva of Mexico while Milendo takes on ex-IBF kingpin Muhammad Rachman of Indonesia in a 10-round non-title dukeout.
"We feel these are the type of bouts that Gorres and Milendo need to take at this point in their careers. We need to see if they are ready for the next level," said Michael Aldeguer at yesterday's press conference, which was also graced by Dennis Canete and trainers Edito Villamor and Rey Caitom.
Also set to see action in the card is former WBO Oriental bantamweight titleholder Michael Domingo who will take on Monico Laurente of the Elorde Stable in a ten-round fight.
This will be Domingo's first bout after being cleared of the hepatitis virus which he was found to have prior to his aborted fight in California late last year.
Also in attendance at yesterday's press conference was James Bacon, who is set to tangle with former conqueror William Jorge in a grudge rematch over eight rounds.
The rest of the undercards are as follows: Joseph Von Minoza versus Rufino Mante; Marjohn Makahilig versus Marlon Ariesga; Ricardo Campana against Jherpol Valero; and Jomar Cordinillo against Ricky Nunez.
Team Rachman is set to arrive in Cebu on March 11, while Leyva planes in on March 12 in time for the final press conference.
Tickets will be available starting tomorrow at the following outlets: ALA Gym BTC, Island Souvenirs boutique-Ayala, USA Sport Ayala, and Gaisano Mactan kiosk.
