The trainer of four-time former heavyweight champion Evander ?The Real Deal? Holyfield has leveled serious charges over Holyfield?s controversial loss to Russian giant Nikolai Valuev in their WBA title fight in Zurich, Switzerland last Sunday morning, Manila Time.

Most boxing writers categorized the decision favoring Valuev as a robbery in which the majority decision was booed by the fans.

But the 46 year old former champion?s trainer Tommy Brooks was far more explicit claiming it was ?just some home cooking for a promoter?s fighter.?

The Atlanta Journal Constitution which was quoted by Fight News said Brooks told the newspaper ?I think somebody was just greasing somebody?s palms? in what was another strong claim of corruption in the world boxing organizations that has clearly undermined the sport and driven away the fans in recent years.

Holyfield himself said they were filing a protest which demanded that the decision be overturned and that he gets what he said was ?rightfully mine? adding, ?I didn?t lose, I won.?

Fight News quoted WBA attorney Robert Mack as s aying the WBA Championship Committee would consider the protest and if it is upheld a rematch could be ordered.

Boxing writer Cliff Rold of Boxing Scene assailed the judges stating it may go down as one of the worst decisions ever rendered in a heavyweight title fight. In the fight which was seen on the internet , Holyfield clearly landed the cleaner blows and appeared to control the tempo of the often dull fight.
