LOS ANGELES, CA -- Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao yesterday sent a strong message to Oscar De la Hoya after he knocked down a bigger sparmate yesterday at the Wild Card Gym here.

Pacquiao unleased a big left hook on the jaw of Arron "Energizer" Robinson, sending the latter on the seat of his pants that had the small crowd electrified at what was described as "Pacquiao's better performance" following a so-so showing last week that was attributed to the plyometrics program being implemented.

Pacquiao also did six rounds against chief sparmate Rashad Holloway and three rounds opposite Michael Dellas, Jr.

Trainer Freddie Roach allowed Pacquiao to spar only eleven rounds yesterday, after which the Filipino icon did his usual routine on the double-end bag, speed bag, and some 1,200 sit-ups supervised by Filipino trainer Nonoy Neri.

Pacquiao's wife Jinkee, accompanied by her twin sister Janet, was also present at the gym yesterday to watch the sparring sessions, although the group came in a little bit late.

Roach has informed that Team Pacquiao will depart Los Angeles on December 1, Monday, straight to Las Vegas on a custom-painted bus provided for him by Top Rank.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to curb obesity on the people surrounding him, Pacquiao has initiated a weight-reduction contest where those who can shed 10 lbs in 2 weeks will get $2,000 and another $5,000 for those who can shed off 15 pounds in two weeks.
